How often should I come in for a dental check-up?
Our team of dentists and hygienists recommend a check up every 6 months for most patients. Even if you're in excellent dental health, bacterial buildup can occur over an extended period of time, leading to gum disease, bad breath, and tooth decay.

My wisdom teeth hurt! What can I do?
Wisdom tooth pain is a common dental problem that can affect both our younger and older patients. If you suspect your wisdom teeth are causing pain or growing in the wrong direction, book a consult with one of our friendly dentists to have them managed.

When should I start bringing my children to the dentist?
At Adams Dental we pride ourselves in providing friendly and safe dental care for all generations of your family. Our dentists recommend bringing your little ones in for a check-up as soon as their baby teeth begin erupting, or before turning 1 year old, to check for normal dental development and any signs of disease.
Early visits to the dentist help build familiarity with the environment, boost confidence, and promote good life-long habits!
-
How do I whiten my teeth?
After a thorough check-up and clean, our team can help you safely whiten your teeth through one of two methods:
1. In-chair whitening: this is where your whitening is completed in a single visit with one of our dental hygienists using the trusted Philips ZOOM! system
2. Take-home whitening: this is the “low and slow” method of whitening which may be more suitable for those of you with tooth sensitivity issues. We still use the Philips ZOOM! DayWhite or NiteWhite system
Book a consult to discuss your suitability for whitening treatment today!

How can I stop grinding my teeth?
Clenching and grinding teeth is often stress related, but can also result from other underlying health conditions such as sleep apnoea. These habits can severely damage teeth, causing excessive wear and cracks; muscles and joints in the head and neck region may also become sore.
Our dentists can help you manage both the causes and symptoms of these issues with various techniques such as awareness exercises, nightguards, therpautic use of botulinum toxin, and snoreguards.
-
How do I fix my bad breath?
Many patients come in with concerns regarding bad breath - you are not alone! Bad breath, also known as halitosis, can be caused by poor saliva flow, poor oral hygiene habits, or dental problems such as gum disease or dental decay.
Book an appointment today for a thorough check-up and clean to uncover and manage the root cause of your bad breath.
